drag brace

drag brace
i. An adjustable brace used to adjust the blade alignment of a semi-rigid rotor. The braces resist the movement of the blade about its lead-lad hinge and provide a means of sweeping the blade for chordwise balance. It is normally mounted on the inner trailing edge of the main rotor blade and the rear portion of the blade grip.
ii. A brace that supports an aircraft landing gear against loads trying to force the landing gear backward.
iii. A brace that supports the wing against the force of drag. See also drag wire.
